How the Aesthetics market is embracing wellness and longevity

In this blog we are pleased to tell you all about our new market report on how the Aesthetics market is embracing wellness and longevity. You can now download the report from our website here.

It's a topic that we have been interested in exploring here at Rare: for the past 12 months. Medical wellness and longevity are topics which are seeping into the everyday consumer consciousness. It is estimated that the global anti-aging market will be worth $610 billion dollars globally by 2025, and shows no sign of slowing down. These astronomical numbers demonstrate that the anti-aging movement is not a fad, and is very much here to stay.

Whether it be generation Z swapping the pub for the gym, biotech bro’s trying to reverse their age, celebrities such as Chrissy Teigen, Pedro Pascal and Zac Efron investing in new biotech firms with an interest in the longevity market, or the Kardashians live streaming whilst having an IV vitamin drip; we are seeing evidence of longevity treatments becoming normalised for the masses.

In this report we pull data from our Rare: Monitor system which profiles the treatments offered by all private health, beauty and wellness providers in the UK, as well as our consumer tracker, which helps understand the popularity of different aesthetics treatments in the UK.

Highlights from the research:

  • Aesthetics providers make up over 9 in 10 of all healthcare providers currently active in Medical Wellness and Longevity.

  • 34% of Aesthetics practices are offering Medical Wellness and Longevity treatments.

  • More than a third of UK Aesthetics providers that offer Medical Wellness and Longevity treatments are offering functional medicine assessments, regenerative medicine programs, and IV Vitamin therapy.

Findings from the research back up much of the anecdotal evidence that we have seen over the past 12 months within the market. Whether in conversation with manufacturers, providers or those in the media it is certainly the case that the medical wellness and longevity market will become more prevalent within the Aesthetics industry.

The findings from this research point to the need for providers to review their treatment repertoire and consider whether it is optimised to make the most of this trend.
