New Business / Product Development Manager

Insights Consultancy Rare: is looking for a proactive, autonomous and flexible New Business / Product Development Manager. Since starting in 2014 Rare: have seen considerable growth and we are now looking to bring in a someone to develop our product offering and new business efforts by managing the new business pipeline with existing clients and identifying new opportunities for growth.

About the role

The role requires a unique blend of skills of strategy, planning and sales. The candidate would be working with the Managing Director to develop our existing product offering and working with clients to identify the problems they need to solve. We are looking for someone with new business experience, with a proactive approach to new business development. We are looking for someone who wants to get stuck in and who can make a difference to the growth of the business.

Rare: work with clients of all sizes across all industries - from startups, to agencies, to large Retail brands, financial services, entertainment, charities and cosmetics...to name a few. The Product and New Business development Manager will need to be comfortable adapting to different research topics and industries.

This role is based in Old Street, London.

Further responsibilities

  • Define the product offering roadmap for 2018/19

  • Generate and contact sales leads & opportunities

  • Develop go-to-market sales strategy for new product proposition in 2018/19

  • Keep up to date with developments in the research industry

  • Work with the Managing Director to develop and target long term new business strategy

  • Support Managing Director with collateral for new business meetings and pitches

  • Maximise networking opportunities / attend events and trade shows

  • Must have experience in face to face business development

  • Experience dealing with a variety of client stakeholders including C-suite

  • Able to muck in at all times / think on feet

This is a newly created role so would ideally suit someone that has worked in a start-up environment. We are offering a competitive salary with performance related pay (aligned to individual project and overall business growth), so the more we win, the more you do too!
