About the team

We are looking for a Mid-Level backend developer to join our small team of researchers, developers, marketing strategists and consultants. You will be joining a fast growing team! We have recently developed a research product which will be accessible as a B2B and B2C offering. It is an exciting time for us as we have built a technology team to take our product to market, and explore what other client problems we can solve with our proprietary approach.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic problem solver to join our growing product and technical team. The candidate will be responsible for developing an MVP product and taking it to market. Working alongside the senior management and frontend development, the candidate will be responsible for developing our backend capabilities, and managing API integration process, as well as driving the development of our own API to support our clients needs. The candidate will also be responsible for backend technical development and maintenance, the candidate will also drive our technical service offering to clients.

The candidate will be confident to run day-to-day tasks autonomously, but will also be a strong communicator who can work closely with the team at Rare: to develop the relationship with clients and all members of the team. We are looking for someone with professional experience who is looking to grow in autonomy and responsibility.

Rare: works with clients of all sizes across all industries - from startups, to agencies, to large FMCG brands, B2B automotive and name a few. They will need to be comfortable adapting to different research topics and industries.

Core skills

  • Experience in back end programming (Node.js)
  • Experience of building API’s and microservices
  • Linux server administration, DevOps and deployment experience
  • Proficient in Javascript
  • Understanding of relational databases and relevant concepts
  • DevOps and CI/CD experience is a plus
